I want to change my enrolment. How and when do I do this?

You can change your enrolment without any penalties up until the relevant census date.

In most cases you can enrol or withdraw from subjects yourself via StudentOnLine. You might not be able to change your enrolment in StudentOnLine if:

The subjects have prerequisites (conditions) that you haven't met. Please contact your Subject Coordinator for approval and complete the Variation Request - Exceptions form (VRE).

The changes will lead you to overload your credit points. Please complete the Variation Request – Structure Amendment (VRSA).

The subject is full or not available. Please complete the VRE form

It's after week two of a Semester or after week one of a Term. If you are enrolling late, you must have extenuating, compassionate and compelling circumstances, and have written approval from your Subject Coordinator, who will also require approval from the Associate Dean Learning and Teaching. Please complete the VRE form.

If you are not able to withdraw or enrol into subject(s) via StudentOnLine, you will need check the Change Enrolment page to see if you need to submit a request for enrolment assistance.

Changing the study period of a subject

If you want to change the study period of one of your subjects (e.g. from Semester 1 to Semester 2), you first need to withdraw from the subject, then re-enrol into your preferred study period. Note some subjects only run-in certain semesters.

International students are required to be enrolled full time unless you have approval. For more information see Underloading – International

Please note: It can take up to 48 hours for a subject to appear in LMS after you enrol.

If you can't see your subjects in LMS at the start of semester you should:

  1. First, log into StudentOnLine to confirm that you're correctly enrolled in the subjects.
  2. Wait 48 hours after enrolment for the subjects to appear in the LMS.
  3. Contact ASK La Trobe for assistance if your LMS subjects haven't appeared 48 hours after enrolment.
