Unsatisfactory Progress stage 2 is at risk. Next steps?
How did I reach Stage 2 (at risk) of formal academic progress?
You are currently at Stage 2 of the formal academic progression process. We assess your progress three times a year, monitoring how many subjects you pass or fail, and how long you're taking to complete your course. If reach stage 2 of unsatisfactory progress you will be formally notified via your student email and SMS.
How did I reach stage 2 (at risk) of formal academic progress?
You will reach Stage 2 as per criteria listed in Section 4 of the Academic Progress Review Policy. If you:
- fail for the first time any workplace-based subject as listed from time to time in the Handbook; or
- fail 50% or more of the sum of the credit points for which the student is enrolled in any given progression period; or
- fail the same subject/s in a course for a second or subsequent time; or
- fail to meet any conditions previously imposed on the student’s enrolment by the School; or
- exceed the maximum allowed period for attempting a course of study; or
- have an overall course Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 0-49 (regardless of the most recent progression period WAM) within the currently admitted course.
What are my next steps?
At this stage of the formal academic progression process, you are required to:
- Attend a support workshop where you can register via the LMS academic progress site
- Seek personal support from appropriate services. View a list of support available to you on the Academic Progress site
- Make an appointment with your course or discipline coordinator before you start classes. Together with your course coordinator you will discuss and develop a planning document detailing any academic and support activities and/or adjustments to your enrolment that may be necessary to ensure your academic success. This planning document is called an Agreed Progression Plan (APP).
Do you hold an international student visa? Seek advice from La Trobe International Student Support to ensure you can complete your course within the time period of your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) - a condition of your student visa.
