Transferring to another La Trobe course

How do I apply for an internal course transfer?

Currently enrolled La Trobe students should complete the online Application for course transfer.

Applications will be assessed and, if successful, will be processed. To be considered for a transfer, you must meet all requirements for the proposed course.

Application deadlines for course transfers can vary between courses, so check these carefully for the course you want to transfer to. Please note that not all courses are available for transfer and that some disciplines (e.g. Law, Education, Health Science) and campuses (e.g. Rural Health School) may have special transfer requirements – please see the Course Transfer webpage for current information about these.

Course transfers are only assessed after the official release of results for the current semester and may take a few weeks after this to be processed. We will email your student email with the outcome of your application before the start of the next semester.

Graduate research candidates
If you are considering transferring to another research degree, discuss your options with your supervisor and / or progress committee. You can find out what transfers are possible and what the application process is in the ‘Transfers between research degrees’ section of the Graduate Research Candidature Policy.
